This article is really quite provocative. If it's true, there really is a cult, with quite a bit of power, that threatens to undermine our democracy.

On the other hand, it does raise a crucial question about what form of spirtual and moral thought might be able to adequately replace the vacuum left by the success of our industrial/technological/scientific society.
